Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA)

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA) Interior

OCIA Candidates: Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Church? Perhaps you’ve been thinking of becoming a member of the Most Sacred Heart parish community, or perhaps you are just curious about what Catholic believe. The acronym OCIA stand for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults and is for those seeking to learn more about the Catholic faith whether you are unbaptized or baptized in another faith tradition. Participants who wish to receive the Sacraments of Baptism and/or Confirmation and Eucharist are encouraged to attend weekly sessions, which typically begin around the beginning of September.

OCIA Sponsors: A Sponsor offers friendly support and accompanies those who are preparing to enter the church. Sponsors attend sessions as often as possible and have a desire to share their faith journey with others.

If interested in becoming Catholic or being a Sponsor, please contact Melinda Kruper.

Time: OCIA sessions meet every Thursday night from late September through Easter for 1 ½ hours.
