Every child deserves the best Catholic education possible. For those children who attend public schools, Most Sacred Heart offers the Parish School of Religion (PSR). Classes are available Sunday morning and Monday evenings for children in Grades K-8. Classes begin August 22 and 23, 2010 and continue until May 8 and 9, 2011. Bus service is available from Blevins, Geggie, Eureka elementary schools and LaSalle Middle School to the Monday 4:30pm class.
The curriculum presents the teachings of the Catholic Church in age-appropriate materials. In addition to religious education in the Ten Commandments, Sacraments, Bible, morality, prayer, liturgy and building a personal relationship with God, the PSR classes provide sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in 2nd grade and Confirmation in 8th grade. For more infomation on the curriculum, feel free to view the publisher's website, FaithFirst.com.
While the faculty and staff strive to teach the faith to our parish children, there are time limitations with PSR. Therefore, home study and parental involvement and encouragement are necessary for the children to learn and grow in their faith.
Registration
Class sizes are kept to a maximum of 15 students. Registration for class selection is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis so early registration is advised. Registration recieved after July 31, 2011 is subject to a late fee.
New families: We welcome all new families to PSR. Please contact Andrea Bonsanti, PSR Principal, to receive a registration packet. You may call 636-938-9507 or e-mail psrprincipal@sacredhearteureka.org.
Tuition
The Parish subsidizes the PSR budget by an estimated 30%. While no child will be denied a Catholic education because of an inability to pay, every family should do what they can. Special tuition arrangemants can be made with the Pastor. Registrations are not accepted until all previous tuition has been resolved.
