ACTS RETREATS: An ACTS weekend is designed to help the retreatants enter into a new deeper relationship with our Lord and fellow parishioners. This is accomplished through Adoration and daily prayer, the call to community in one's parish as a memebr of the Body of Christ and Theology in encouraging the study of scriptures and our Catholic Faith. All of these which emphasize and encourage the virtue of Service to our Lord, our parish and one another.
ADULT EDUCATION COMMITTEE: Our parish places emphasis on creating opportunities for adults to grow in their faith. Adult education activities include religious and general interest programs, library resources for self-study and parish outreach through local press and seasonal email devotions.
ADULT FAITH FORMATION COMMITTEE: Our Parish puts a lot of time and effort into Catholic education for our children, and this committee seeks to do that same thing for the adults of our Parish. ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION: This group of Parishioners administers the Athletic program for kids here at Sacred Heart School. During the school year they provide coaches and practices for the Basketball, Volleyball, and Soccer teams from Sacred Heart School who play in the Catholic Youth Council (CYC) League. The Sports Association meets the first Thursday of every month at 7:00pm in the dining room.
CHOIR: The Parish Choir provides musical leadership primarily for the 11:00 am Sunday Mass as well as various Parish Celebrations. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm in church. Cantors lead music at the Saturday Vigil and Sunday 7:00am, 9:00am, and 11:00am Masses. Membership is open to all by audition. CHURCH CLEANERS: This devoted group of Parishioners, both men and women, work in Church to keep the sanctuary, pews, floors, etc. neat and clean and in good shape. To volunteer your services, please call Margaret Baker (636-938-6911).
AUCTION COMMITTEE: This Committee sponsors a dinner auction each year to raise money for the Parish. The Auction will be on April 21, 2012, and it will have a Puttin' on the Ritz theme. While smaller and more formal than the Fall Festival it, too, is an opportunity for our Parishioners to get to know each other better and enjoy each other's company.
YOUTH GROUP: This group of high school Parishioners is formed for the spiritual and social needs of its members. Discussions on topics of interest, evenings of recollection, rec nights, youth Masses, etc. are held throughout the year. Membership is open to anyone of high school age. EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION: These are the men and women of our Parish who not only help with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass, but are also, in some circumstances, authorized to take Communion to the sick in their homes. Eucharistic Ministers need to be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church and at least 18 years old. Interested? Call Fr. Schilli.
FALL FESTIVAL COMMITTEE: This group of parishioners, with the help of the entire Parish, coordinates the annual Fall Festival the 3rd Sunday of September. Dinners, booths, raffles, games, bingo, refreshments, fun and music is available for the whole family. This is a major fund raiser for the Sacred Heart Parish and it is also a time for our parishioners to work and grow together as a family.
FIRST FRIDAY ADORATION SOCIETY: No meetings. No dues. No fund-raising events. The members of this group simply commit themselves to an hour of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament on the First Friday of each month in order to honor our parish Patron, the Sacred Heart of Jesus. FISH FRYS: The Parish Fish Frys provide additional funds for the Parish operations and give the people of Sacred Heart an opportunity to spend time together working and relaxing. Priced to accommodate families, the fish frys are held weekly during Lent. To top off the delicious fish dinners, contributions of homemade cakes, pies and desserts are always welcome. A parish-wide sign up is used to schedule volunteers for this effort.
GARDEN CLUB: Our Parish facilities, especially our church courtyard, are made even more beautiful when they're planted, growing and blooming. This is made possible by a talented and enthusiastic group of green thumbs. Keep Sacred Heart beautiful - volunteer for our Garden Club. Call the rectory to have your name added to this list.
HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE: Our Parish has lots of things going on - our hospitality committee is called to serve on an as needed basis. It also helps coordinate our Sunday morning coffee & doughnuts, welcome breakfasts. etc. Call the rectory to have your name added to this list of volunteers.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: The Knights of Columbus of Most Sacred Heart Council 3511 is a Fraternal Catholic Men's Organization. The Knights in our Parish come together to support our priests, parish families, school, and community through charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. The Knights meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6:45 pm in the school dining room for dinner, followed by their regular business meeting. Every practicing Catholic male over the age of 18 years of age is urged to join.
LECTORS: These are the men and women of our Parish who do the Scripture readings. Lectors need to be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church, at least of high school age. Interested? Call Fr. Schilli.
LITURGY COMMITTEE: A group of parishioners appointed by the Pastor to advise him on the topic of the liturgical life of Sacred Heart. The Committee meets quarterly.
PARISH COUNCIL: A group of elected parishioners who serve as advisors to the Pastor. The Council meets monthly, except during the summer. There are 9 people on the Council, each serving a 3 year term. One-third of the Council is elected each year. The current President of the Parish Council is Vito Polizzi.
PRAYER CHAIN: The old adage, "The family that prays together stays together" apllies to parishes as much as it applies to indiviual families. Those on the prayer chain get an e-mail when a prayer request comes into the rectory and your job would then be to pray. To pray for someone or to be added to the list, please contact the parish secretary 636-938-5048.
PRO-LIFE COMMITTEE: This group of Parishioners, with the help of the entire parish through the Parochial Fund financial support, promotes a consistent message of "Respect Life" to the Eureka community, especially for the unborn, terminally ill, those sentenced to death, the elderly, or the handicapped. In turn, they support the Tri-County Birthright Center, sponsor the first Saturday Planned Parenthood opposition vigil in Manchester, communicate with political representatives concerning the sanctity of life and coordinate an annual pilgrimage to Washington, D.C. in observation of the Roe vs. Wade decision. Meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Sunday of the month in Fathr Dowling Hall. John and Linda Ryan Co-Chair our Pro-Life Committee.
QUILTERS: Begun in 1993, Sacred Heart quilters meet each Tuesday for a day of quilting and conversation. Proceeds from quilt sales and raffles go to the Parish. All levels of ability are welcome. ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY: This organization is set up to help those who are experiencing financial difficulties in some way. USHERS: Men and women of our Parish who greet people when they enter Church; help them as needed, to find seats; take up the collection at Mass and then distribute bulletins at the end of Mass. Interested? Call Fr. Schilli.
WELCOME COMMITTEE: This group of ladies from the Sacred Heart Women's Club visits new parishioners to welcome them to the Parish and supply them with information about Sacred Heart. It helps get people off on the right foot as they try to get involved in our parish.
WOMEN'S CLUB: This organization of all the women of the parish was formed to meet the spiritual and social needs of the ladies of Sacred Heart. Membership is open to all women over 21. The present coordinator is Sue Charron. more information
